A brine chiller is a specialized industrial refrigeration system designed to cool secondary process fluids below the freezing point of water (0°C or 32°F) without solidifying. While standard chillers use pure water to cool machinery or environments, water freezes and expands at low temperatures, risking catastrophic pipe bursts. Brine chillers overcome this limitation by using a brine solution—a mixture of water and an antifreeze agent like salt, ethylene glycol, or propylene glycol—to safely achieve extreme low-temperature cooling.
